As well as the patients' dislike of Compass sludge, there are other factors to take into account. Eventually the long l-o-n-g contract previous SDHB management geniuses signed with the international firm of unlovely repute, there are sensible-green factors like freight kms, eat local, sustainability, and extreme events associated with quakes (isn't the Southern Alps one due according to its usual pattern?) and climate change, irrespective of whether we sign CC agreements, ban plastic bags etc etc.

    And - as you see the internet was cut here in Dunedin from about 9 pm last night till about 8:30 this morning. Global Wetting? See extract from ODT below.
    More bad weather is expected to lash most of New Zealand today as major highways in the South Island remain closed and a state of emergency declared in some areas due to intense downpours.

    Spark is trying to restore internet to a large part of the lower country after fibre cables were cut in the storm.
